We have a few Aide positions available. They are everyday, will include safety supervision, working with kids. Times are 3 to 5 hours per day. Must have either an associates degree or be able to pass the parapraxis exam.

Cascade 512 Weekend Meals

We have about 50 weekend meals available. They come with non-perishable items that your students can use for snacks and meals throughout the weekend. This is a first come, first serve until we get approved for more meals. Please only sign up if you could really use it.

The Boys and Girls Club is now accepting additional aplications for more students to attend. Attached to this email is additional information on how to register for Boys and Girls Club.

We have started our end of year testing. Below are a few tips to help ease any anxiety your child may have.

• Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before the test.
• On the morning of the test make sure your child is not rushed. This will help them arrive at school calm and ready for the assessmentFeed your child a good breakfast. Research shows that children do better on in school when they have had a good breakfast.
• Reassure your child that the outcome on the test is not as important as simply doing their best while taking the test.
• Talk with them at the end of each day and ask how the day went. Ask specific questions let them know that you are proud of them for working hard and doing their best.
• If they fall short of what they would like to have done, make a plan for how to improve. Involve the child in making this plan so that they have ownership.

Congratulations to our Knowledge Bowl Teams. We had three teams compete in each division this year. In both divisions Cascade 1 and Cascade 2 two placed in the Top Ten district wide. The divisions were 3rd and 4th graders and 5th and 6th graders.

We had three of our students who placed in the Regional STEM Fair. The Regional STEM Fair is the equivelant to State. Three of our students placed at this Fair. Congratulations to Jay Shelley, Amanda Wikle and Macie Thorne

Recently we completed our Chinese Immersion lottery. We have extended invitations to all those who were interested in joining our immersion program. At this point we have a few openings for next year. If you are interested in this program please reach out to Mr. Johnson. If you know of someone who would be interested in participating let them know as well. These few openings will be filled on a first come basis.

On Tuesday, March 14 “Pi Day” we will be hosting our annual Math and Art night. This is a time for parents to come to our school and play a math game in your childs classroom. In addition to the math game we will have student art work hanging in each of the halls of the school. After playing the math game and looking at art we invite you to the gym for a slice of pizza, and a cookie.

On Monday, March 6th we will be sending out a Tree fund raiser that will culminate on Math and Art Night “Pi Day.” Our goal is to bring shade to the playground of Cascade. On Monday we will be sending home an envelope called “Pi Day Tree Donations.” We are asking for a donation of $3.14 per child. 100 percent of the money raised will purchase trees for our playground. Donations will be collected at the office. Trees will be planted this spring.

This information of the Alpine District board meeting held on February 28, 2023 was sent in a separate email yesterday and is included today for your reference. The Alpine School District Board of Education voted to approve a formal boundary study and potential closure affecting several schools in our area. As part of this study, the proposal would alter the boundaries of Aspen, Bonneville, Cascade, Centennial, Foothill, Northridge, and Orchard. It is also proposed that Sharon and Windsor would be closed.
