I am thrilled to join the team at Cascade Elementary School. My career in education spans 20 rewarding years of leadership and classroom experience:
- Administration: 6 years of administrative leadership, including serving as a Principal at a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) school for over 5 years. Previously served as an Intern Facilitator and Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) at Westmore Elementary.
- Teaching: 12 years in 3rd, 5th, and 6th-grade classrooms, including 9 years in a Title 1 school.
- Credentials: B.A. in Education and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership.
I believe schools are the best places on earth—hubs of curiosity and generosity fueled by students eager to succeed and the hardworking teachers–best humans on the planet. I truly believe education brings hope and a little bit of magic to the world. Having spent nearly a decade in Title 1 schools and having worked with a DLI program for 5 and half years, I know that all students can learn at deep levels when they have the right team supporting them. I feel it is a true privilege to be on that team.
My husband Bruce and I are the parents of 4 children and almost 10 grandchildren. I love spending time with these amazing people. I also like to spend time reading, backpacking, running, stargazing, and traveling.
I have heard amazing things about Cascade Elementary and I look forward to working with all of you and getting to know this great community.
