Updated map for the Parent led Cascade Bike bus. This is a fun and safe way to get to school. The bike bus officially
runs every Friday. Today we had several students and a few adults who participated. This is a fun and safe way to
get to school and to meet new friends.

Please take a moment to fill out the free and reduced lunch application. This program offers free or reduced lunch for stu-
dents. https://linqconnect.com/public/meal-application/new?identifier=TFCNC9

A big thank you to all parents who are not turning left onto 800 East during the pick up times. During the pick up time
a left hand turn slows traffic significantly. We are continuing to encourage all to be courteous in the drop off and pick up
zones.

Safety tips for children being dropped off by car
• Wait for the car to come to a complete stop before attempting to load or unload.
• Children should always enter and exit the car from the sidewalk side, not from the street side of the car.
• Wait for the car to come to come to a complete stop before leaving the sidewalk.
• Do not run on the sidewalk next to the cars.
Safety tips for children near buses
• When you get off, take five giant steps away from the bus, out of the danger zone.
• Cross in front of the bus, and make sure you maintain eye contact with the driver.
• Never go back for anything and never bend down near or under the bus.

Safety tips for parents
• Do not use your cell phones in the drop off/pick up zone. This is a distraction we do not need while picking up children.
• Be patient of other drivers. A child’s safety is far more important than saving a few seconds.
• Watch for children. They are small and easily can be hidden in the cars blind spot.
• Only drop your kids off when your car arrives at the designated yellow painted drop off zone.
• Pull as far up as possible in the drop off zone.
• Do not wave for your kids to cross the drop off zone driving area. Only use the crosswalks with an adult present.
